Openwave will pay a special dividend of $1.20 on July 2 to holders as of Wednesday, June 13. That’s 13% of the share price of about $9. This follows rejection of a partial tender offer from Harbinger Capital Partners at $8.30 per share. Openwave opted instead for a revamp of its structure that includes a 20 percent reduction in staff and the payment of this special dividend.
